PRESS PLAY HIGH SCHOOL CHALLENGE

Press Play High School Challenge

Press Play Con 2026 invites all Guam high schools to come together for a friendly, exciting, and inclusive High School Challenge designed to celebrate student participation, creativity, school spirit, and the shared fandoms that bring our communities together.

This challenge gives students an opportunity to represent their school beyond the traditional classroom by participating in cosplay, gaming, “Side Quest” activities, mini-games, creative challenges, and other experiences throughout Press Play Con. Every student can contribute to their school's score—whether they are competing on stage, dressing up as their favorite character, completing Side Quests, or simply joining their classmates and supporting their school.

To ensure fair representation and competition among schools of different sizes, the scoring system will emphasize participation rates and overall engagement rather than relying solely on the largest number of students. Schools will compete across multiple categories, including student participation, dressed-up participants, Side Quest participation, and wins in mini-activities, with additional points recognizing teamwork and school spirit.

At the conclusion of Press Play Con 2026, the school with the highest overall score will be recognized as the Press Play High School Challenge Champion and will receive a cash prize designated for its student body council or school.

More importantly, this challenge represents what Press Play Con is all about: bringing young people together through the things they love, encouraging creativity and connection, and creating a positive community where everyone has a place to belong.

Most Participant Category

To distribute points to the schools, we will base it on a percentage scale within the total number of attendees. Sign-in closes at 12pm on that day.

For example:         (Points)             (Example School and Percentage Breakdown)

        30pts      600  School A students divided by 1,000 total attendees = 60%

        20pts      200  School B Students divided by 1,000 total attendees = 20%

        10pts      100  School C Students divided by 1,000 total attendees = 10%

         5 pts       All other schools

Dressed-Up Category

Instead of: "School with the most costumes wins."

Percentage of participating students who arrive dressed in costume or fandom-related attire.

This process will begin from 10am and close at 12pm.  Event staff will record all student attendees signing in.

School A
300 attendees
150 dressed up = 50%

School B
200 attendees
140 dressed up = 70%

The first three schools will get 25pts, while the others get 15pts.

Side Quest Category

Student representatives who participated in the most side quest activities will earn 20pts. All others will earn 10pts. To qualify for this 20-point competition, a school must have at least 20 verified student participants at Press Play Con.

To earn the points, student representatives must complete a quest from the event Quest Giver. Once completed, they head back to the Quest Giver, who in turn will give it to our event staff to document and tally.

At the end, only two schools get 20pts, and the rest who participated will get 15pts.  Schools cannot double up on points for this section.

1. Participation Champion — 25 pts
School with the greatest number of verified students completing Side Quests.

2. Participation Engagement — 25 pts
School with the highest verified participation percentage, subject to a minimum number of participants.
